Bandits raid villages, abduct two residents in Kano

Residents Abducted in Kano State Attacks

KANO, Nigeria — Two residents were reportedly abducted during a series of nighttime attacks by suspected bandits in Rogo Local Government Area, Kano State, earlier this week.

According to a post shared on social media platform X by security analyst Bakatsine, the attacks began in Sundu village, where one individual was taken. The assailants then moved to nearby Yanoko village, where they reportedly abducted a woman.

Witnesses indicated that the bandits operated under the cover of darkness, raising concerns about the growing insecurity in rural areas of the state.

“Last night, bandits stormed communities in Rogo LGA of Kano State, first attacking Sundu village before moving on to Yanoko village,” Bakatsine reported. “Residents are increasingly anxious about the ability of these groups to operate with such ease, especially as local calls for enhanced protection continue.”

The situation underscores the persistent challenges facing communities in securing adequate safety measures against such criminal activities.
