The organization encourages young Nigerians to engage actively in nation-building and aims to provide transparent information on national developments.

In related news, Afrobeat musician Femi Kuti recently expressed his discomfort with being associated with the late former President Muhammadu Buhari. During an appearance on Arise Television, he made these remarks while discussing the posthumous Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award awarded to his father, Fela Anikulapo Kuti.

Femi Kuti hailed the recognition as a tribute to his father’s legacy of confronting dictatorship, corruption, and injustice in Nigeria and across Africa. He remarked on the significance of the award for those who experienced the era of military rule that influenced Fela’s music and activism.

“Everybody is very happy. We’re excited. I’m in Los Angeles right now, and it’s very hard to explain, unless you were alive in the 1970s, what my father did, fighting dictatorship in Nigeria,” Femi said. He reflected on the challenges and dangers Fela faced, recounting instances of state violence that deeply affected their family.

“It was raid after raid. The burning of Kalakuta. His mother being thrown out of the window, she later died from the injuries she sustained,” he recalled. Femi emphasized the intrinsic connection between his father’s music and Nigeria’s political history, noting how Fela’s sound became a tool of resistance.
