Amaechi meets Tambuwal in Abuja amid 2027 ADC consultations
ABUJA — Rotimi Amaechi, the vice-presidential candidate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the upcoming 2027 general elections, met privately with former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal in Abuja on Thursday.
Details of the meeting have not been released, but it occurs during a period of political discussions as parties prepare for next year’s elections.
This gathering followed the recent submission of the ADC’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, along with Amaechi as his running mate, to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) — a key step in the election process.
Amaechi was recently announced as the party’s vice-presidential candidate, finalizing the ADC’s ticket for the forthcoming elections.
Additionally, the meeting took place shortly after a Federal High Court in Abuja reaffirmed David Mark, former Senate President, as the National Chairman of the ADC.
While the results of the Amaechi-Tambuwal meeting remain undisclosed, political analysts view it as part of the ongoing strategic planning within the party as the 2027 elections approach.
