Suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP Attack Targets Schools in Borno State
Borno State officials are investigating reports of suspected Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists setting fire to several schools, including both primary and secondary institutions, in Kautikari village, located in the Chibok local government area.
The attacks occurred around 7 p.m. Saturday, according to security sources. Residents reported that, while no casualties have been confirmed, many fled into nearby bushes for safety amid the chaos.
This incident follows the abduction of students from Mussa Primary and Junior Secondary School in Askira-Uba, where children were missing for nearly a month earlier this year.
A local resident noted that a previous attack had taken place in the village several months ago, but the assailants did not damage property at that time.
As of now, state authorities have not yet verified the details surrounding the latest incident.
