EPL: Why we lost 3-0 to Man City – Liverpool manager, Iraola

Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola stated that Ryan Gravenberch’s red card significantly altered the dynamics of the match, which concluded with a 3-0 defeat to Manchester City on Sunday. This loss marked the Reds’ first setback in the Premier League this season.
The first half ended without any goals, but the second half shifted dramatically following Gravenberch’s dismissal, which came after he received a second yellow card.
Erling Haaland, Jeremy Doku, and Rayan Cherki each found the net for Manchester City, allowing the team to maintain its perfect record to start the season.
Iraola reflected on the match, emphasizing the stark contrast between the two halves. “There were two different games: one until the red card, and then one after,” he told reporters. “For 60 minutes, the players were very good. The second half, after the red card, was where City were better than us.”
