‘Every venue will sell out’ — I will demand $500,000 if I tour with Wizkid – Davido

Afrobeats singer Davido has stated that a joint tour with fellow artist Wizkid would likely sell out venues around the world and expressed his intent to charge $500,000 for each performance.

During an interview on the IONWANNATALK show, Davido discussed the possibility of collaborating on music and touring with Wizkid, while also reflecting on the challenges of their past partnerships. He noted uncertainty about whether a joint song would achieve commercial success, referencing the collaboration between fellow Nigerian artists D’banj and 2Baba, which did not resonate as strongly as anticipated.

“If Wizkid and I do a song together, I don’t know if it will pop because when D’banj and 2Baba did a record together, it didn’t really pop,” Davido said.

However, he expressed greater confidence regarding the potential for a joint tour, claiming, “If we tour together, I’ll ask for $500,000 per show because I know every venue will sell out.”

Davido also mentioned that he and Wizkid have not collaborated on a song in nearly a decade. He clarified that their lack of recent collaborations was not due to an inability to work together but rather a difference in mindset.

He acknowledged that public perception varies regarding whether their rivalry has enhanced their careers or if a collaborative effort would be more beneficial. “I felt that way at some point but not anymore, and it takes a great man to do that,” he added, emphasizing the importance of maturity in moving beyond past disagreements.
