Golden Eaglets Suffer Defeat to Australia in Invitational Tournament
Nanjing, China – Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets fell to Australia 4-2 in their second match of the Four-Nation Invitational Tournament on Thursday. This marks the team’s second consecutive loss, following a narrow 3-2 defeat to Tanzania in their opening game.
Throughout the tournament, the Golden Eaglets have scored four goals while conceding seven. Coach Uwejamomere Eboboritse’s squad will face the hosts, China, in their final match on Saturday.
This tournament serves as preparation for the Golden Eaglets ahead of the WAFU B U-17 Championship, scheduled for September. The WAFU B tournament will act as the qualifying event for the 2027 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations.
