Turkey: Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk gives update on Osimhen’s injury

Galatasaray secured a 4-3 victory over Amed SK in the Turkish Super Lig on Saturday, but did so without key forward Victor Osimhen, who missed the match due to a knee injury.

The 27-year-old Nigerian international sustained the injury during a Champions League match against Stuttgart earlier this month. Following the game, Galatasaray head coach Okan Buruk provided an update on Osimhen’s condition, stating that the team will closely monitor his progress. Buruk noted that the upcoming international break allows Galatasaray a two-week period to assess Osimhen’s recovery.

“We don’t have a definite timeline for Osimhen, just an estimate,” Buruk said, as reported by Yağız Sabuncuoğlu. “The international break gave us a two-week gain. We will monitor his progress day by day.”

Galatasaray has confirmed that Osimhen’s surgery was successful. However, he is anticipated to be sidelined for the team’s next matchup against Samsunspor, scheduled for Saturday, November 21, 2026.
