Israeli Attacks Continue in Gaza Despite Ceasefire

Israeli military actions in Gaza have persisted despite a ceasefire agreement signed last October. Reports indicate that a Palestinian child was killed when Israeli forces opened fire on civilians in the al-Mawasi area, designated as a “safe zone,” in southern Gaza. Sources at the Nasser Medical Complex confirmed the death of Ismail al-Bardawil, who was among three fatalities recorded on Monday due to ongoing Israeli strikes.
In a separate incident in Jabalia, located in northern Gaza, a Palestinian man succumbed to injuries inflicted by Israeli gunfire. Additionally, a woman was killed in Deir el-Balah, situated in central Gaza, as Israeli troops conducted further operations in the area.
Nine other individuals sustained injuries from Israeli gunfire in the Bureij refugee camp and in the city of Khan Younis. The Anadolu news agency reported that among the wounded were two women and a child.
Moreover, in the Jabalia al-Balad area, a woman was critically injured following fire directed by Israeli forces near the Jabalia refugee camp, according to reports from Al Jazeera Arabic. Witnesses also noted heavy shelling and tank fire from Israeli units in the Shakoush region, north of Rafah.
Anadolu further reported incidents in which three Palestinians, including a woman, were shot while Israeli forces engaged targets in the Hamad City residential area, north of Khan Younis. Additionally, two others experienced shrapnel injuries from artillery fire in the al-Amal neighborhood, also in central Khan Younis.
Although a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas was established ten months ago, Israeli troops have not been withdrawn, and attacks on Palestinians continue despite the claimed cessation of hostilities. According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, since the ceasefire took effect, there have been 1,394 documented deaths and 4,839 injuries. The Ministry’s records indicate that at least 73,914 individuals have been killed since the onset of the conflict on October 7, 2023.
