Kaduna Pilgrims advised to remain prayerful as Hajj ends

Kaduna State Pilgrims Encouraged to Continue Worship After Hajj

Kaduna State pilgrims have been urged to deepen their prayers following the conclusion of the Hajj pilgrimage, which officially ended last Saturday. Sheikh Haliru Maraya, a member of the Special Hajj Committee, delivered this message after the midday Zuhur prayer at the Ibrahim Khalil street residence of the pilgrims.

In a statement released on Sunday by Malam Ibraheem Musa, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Uba Sani, it was noted that approximately 1.7 million pilgrims from around the globe participated in the 2026 Hajj. The ceremony took place between May 25 and May 30, corresponding to the 8th to 13th days of Dhul Hijjah according to the Islamic calendar.

During his address to the pilgrims, Sheikh Maraya emphasized that worship performed in Makkah yields significantly greater rewards than elsewhere. He highlighted that acts of worship in the birthplace of Prophet Muhammad are rewarded 100,000 times by Allah.

The Sheikh cautioned the pilgrims against sinful thoughts, stating that even the contemplation of such actions could be recorded as sins. He urged them to resist any inclinations to return home prematurely, describing such thoughts as temptations from the devil.

Sheikh Maraya further encouraged the pilgrims to engage in voluntary prayers, recite the Qur’an, and offer various supplications to maximize the spiritual benefits of their stay in Makkah post-Hajj. He also called on them to pray for Nigeria and its leaders, as well as for an end to the nation’s security challenges.

In closing, the Sheikh commended Governor Uba Sani for facilitating logistical support and empowering the Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, contributing to a smooth and successful 2026 Hajj experience.
