LIVE: Radley charged over ‘silly’ hit on Munster

Roosters star Victor Radley has avoided a suspension after the judiciary opted to hand him a fine for a hit on Cameron Munster that left his coach fuming.

Radley was sin binned by referee Ashley Klein after rushing out of his defensive line to put pressure on Munster in the Storm’s 28-8 win over the Roosters, but ended up putting his shoulder into Munster well after the Storm star had passed the ball.

The Roosters enforcer was heavily criticised for the play, with league greats Andrew Johns and Billy Slater not impressed.

“You can’t do that. That was late. It’s just silly,” Johns said on Nine’s NRL coverage

“You see Munster passes, (then) he relaxes.”

”He’s lucky it was just 10 minutes in the bin,” Slater added.

“That was really late and there was no attempt to tackle.”

Despite the criticism of both Johns and Slater and his own coach Trent Robinson, Radley can accept a $3000 fine with an early plea after the hit on Munster was graded as a grade 1 dangerous contact charge.

He risks a two match suspension if he chooses to fight the charge at the judiciary and loses.
