Nigerian Air Force Conducts Operations Against Kidnappers in Benue State
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has conducted air operations targeting criminal activities in Benue State, offering close air support to ground troops during a mission aimed at suspected kidnappers.
The operation took place in the Ogbadigbo region, located near the boundary between Enugu and Benue states. This information was announced by NAF late Wednesday.
Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the Director of Public Relations and Information for the NAF, stated that the operation effectively disrupted the activities of the suspected criminals and facilitated the advancement of ground forces.
Ejodame noted that the aircraft successfully completed its mission before the pilot executed a precautionary landing approximately 10 nautical miles from the airfield while returning to base.
According to Ejodame, this landing was in line with established operational and safety protocols following combat missions. “The helicopter has returned to base,” he confirmed.
The NAF reiterated its commitment to providing ongoing air support to ground forces as part of its broader strategy to curb criminal activities and enhance security in local communities.
