"Nigeria happened to me today" HR manager narrates how company lost a talented staff

A human resource personnel has recounted how the company she represents lost a talented staff because of Nigeria’s public image.

 

Donne Adidi explained on X that a Fintech company she represents here in Nigeria employed a developer who was very good and well-liked.

 

Sadly, the developer sent a message weeks later that he won’t be able to sign the contract to work for the company because Nigeria has been blacklisted by his country as a “terrorist country”.

 

The developer explained that this would make it impossible for him to receive his pay from the Nigerian company.

 

“Nigeria happened to me today,” the HR of the company lamented after losing the valuable developer.
