‘Nigeria will turn around for better’ – Obasanjo

Abeokuta, Nigeria — Bola Obasanjo, the wife of former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo, expressed confidence in Nigeria’s future during a meeting with a delegation from the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) on Saturday. The event took place at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library.
Mrs. Obasanjo emphasized her belief that the country is poised for improvement, stating, “Nigeria is a land flowing with milk and honey, and things will turn around for the better for us.”
She also offered prayers for the World Public Relations Forum, which is set to take place in Abuja in November. She remarked that the forum will not only highlight Nigeria’s culture and creative potential but will also enhance the country’s reputation on the global stage and promote responsible communication.
“The initiative will contribute to a positive national turnaround through international engagement,” she added.
Mrs. Obasanjo called attention to the importance of serving the community, saying, “You are doing this to encourage the youth, the less privileged, the downtrodden and the marginalized. When you serve humanity, you serve God, and Almighty God will not forsake you.”
In response to her remarks, Mrs. Oluwaseun Boye, Chairman of the NIPR Ogun State Chapter, noted that the visit served to mark the culmination of the chapter’s roadshow and to raise awareness about the upcoming global event and its accompanying end-of-year cultural initiatives.
