Nigerian Army and Police Strengthen Security Partnership
CALABAR, Nigeria – The Nigerian Army and the Nigeria Police Force are enhancing their longstanding security collaboration following a meeting between Brigadier General P.O. Alimikhena, Commander of the 13 Brigade, and Commissioner of Police Ajo Ordue on Wednesday.
During a courtesy visit to Alimikhena’s office, the commander acknowledged the police force as a vital partner in maintaining peace and security. He pledged the Brigade’s commitment to further developing their cooperative relationship and operational partnership.
Ordue emphasized his command’s dedication to fostering strategic alliances among security agencies. He highlighted the importance of a coordinated, intelligence-driven approach to ensure the safety and security of Cross River State.
The Commissioner noted that stronger collaboration among security forces is essential for proactive and intelligence-led policing, particularly in addressing issues such as violent crime, cultism, communal tensions, and the proliferation of arms.
Discussions between the two commanders centered on enhancing intelligence sharing, joint operations, and coordinated responses to emerging security threats. Both leaders reaffirmed the necessity of sustained inter-agency collaboration to protect lives and property in the region.
