No. 3 Alabama’s defense chomps down on Gators

No. 3 Alabama jumped out to a 40-16 lead and never looked back in a 97-69 victory over Florida on Wednesday night at Coleman Coliseum.

With the win, the Crimson Tide improved to 21-3 overall and remained unbeaten in the SEC at 11-0.

The Alabama defense held Florida to .349 shooting from the field (22 of 63), including .286 on threes (4 of 14) to cruise to the victory.

Brandon Miller led the Tide with 24 points, nine rebounds and three assists. Mark Sears added 19 points.

Colin Castleton totaled a game-high 29 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks for Florida, but got little help from the rest of the team outside of freshman Riley Kugel, who added 15 points. The rest of the team combined to make just 7 of 34 shots from the field (.206).
