Benin City, Edo State — Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have arrested one Esosa Godsent Osagie for allegedly stealing approximately 60 litres of diesel from a telecommunications facility in Edo State.
The arrest occurred on June 13, 2026, following numerous reports of theft at an IHS Towers facility located in Utesi, on the outskirts of the state capital.

Ogbebor noted that, acting on intelligence, the command intensified its efforts in response to the theft incidents. Preliminary investigations are currently underway to confirm statements made by the suspect and identify any potential accomplices, he added.
Under the leadership of State Commandant Akintayo Saidi Ayinla, the NSCDC has reiterated its commitment to carry out intelligence-driven operations against criminal activities related to economic sabotage.
Ogbebor encouraged local residents to remain vigilant and continue providing reliable information to security agencies, which is vital for safeguarding critical national assets across the region.
