Kano State Security Forces Intercept Kidnapping and Cattle Rustling Attempt

KANO, Nigeria — The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kano State reported that its operatives successfully thwarted a kidnapping and cattle rustling attempt in the Kiru Local Government Area.

In a statement issued by Public Relations Officer SC Ibrahim Idris Abdullahi, the incident involved armed assailants who attacked a shepherd, inflicting serious injuries and abducting his two children while attempting to steal livestock.

Following intelligence reports, NSCDC personnel stationed near Dansoshiya Forest quickly mobilized to the scene. They engaged the attackers in a gunfight, and due to their superior firepower, the assailants abandoned the kidnapped children and retreated into the forest, reportedly sustaining injuries in the process.

The rescued individuals, Abubakar Saleh, 36, and Muhammed Inuwa Dille, 30, were reunited with their families. Meanwhile, the injured shepherd, 70-year-old Alhaji Saleh, was transported to a health center for urgent medical assistance.
