The Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association (NVMA), Zamfara State Chapter, has expressed its appreciation to Governor Dauda Lawal for the recent approval and implementation of the new Consolidated Medical Salary Structure (CONMESS) for veterinary doctors in the state.

In a statement issued by Dr. Mukhtar Salihu Anka, PhD, who serves as the chapter’s chairman, the NVMA characterized the salary structure’s implementation as a significant advance for the veterinary profession. The association highlighted that this move underscores the administration’s commitment to the welfare of workers, professional recognition, and the advancement of the livestock and animal health sector.

The association commended Governor Lawal for addressing long-standing issues related to appropriate compensation and professional welfare for veterinary practitioners. They asserted that the new salary structure is expected to enhance staff morale and productivity, encouraging veterinarians to provide quality services to livestock farmers and the broader community.

“The implementation of the new salary scale is a significant milestone for the veterinary profession in Zamfara State,” the statement read.

Furthermore, the NVMA reaffirmed its dedication to collaborating with the state government on matters concerning animal health, livestock development, public health, and the overall socio-economic progress of Zamfara.
