Oyo abduction: Eight kidnappers in DSS custody, others neutralised – Presidency

Security Forces Neutralize Some Kidnappers in Oyo State Rescue Operation
In a recent operation, security forces have neutralized several kidnappers involved in the abduction of pupils and teachers from schools in Orire, Oyo State. The announcement comes following the rescue of the victims, who spent 56 days in captivity.
Bayo Onanuga, a media aide to President Bola Tinubu, confirmed the developments in a post on social media platform X. He reported that during the operation, eight suspects were arrested and are currently in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS).
Onanuga stated, “In the course of the rescue operation, eight of the kidnappers were arrested and are now in DSS custody, while some of them were neutralized.”
He emphasized that there was no quid pro quo involved in the rescue efforts. One of the kidnappers, identified as a kingpin, is facing prosecution for previous crimes.
