Oyo abduction: Tinubu inherited insecurity from APC, stop blaming PDP – Atiku to NSA Ribadu

Atiku Abubakar Criticizes President Tinubu’s Response to Insecurity

Atiku Abubakar, the 2027 presidential candidate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has criticized President Bola Tinubu for attributing Nigeria’s insecurity to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Abubakar contends that the president inherited the prevailing insecurity from the All Progressives Congress (APC), which was led by his predecessor, the late Muhammadu Buhari.

The former Vice President made his remarks through his media aide, Paul Ibe, following comments by National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu regarding the recent abduction of school children and teachers in Oyo State.

Reports indicate that terrorists abducted pupils and staff from LA School and Community Grammar School in Ahoro-Esinele. In response to the crisis, President Tinubu dispatched a high-level delegation, including Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila and Ribadu, to assess the situation on the ground.

During his response to the Oyo incident, Ribadu suggested that Tinubu’s administration was not solely at fault, placing some blame on the PDP for the current security challenges.

Ibe rejected Ribadu’s assertion, stating on social media, “It is disingenuous of NSA Nuhu Ribadu to blame the inability of the Tinubu-led APC administration to safely rescue the Oyo abducted school children on the PDP government that the APC replaced 11 years ago. It took the President two weeks to send a delegation to visit the families of the abducted school children and teachers in Oriire.”

Ibe further emphasized that Tinubu has inherited ongoing security challenges from his predecessor, adding, “Keep on blaming everyone except yourself while the children continue to languish in the custody of their abductors in Oyo, Borno, and elsewhere.”
