‘Peter Obi propagandist’ – Bwala accuses Arise TV’s Rufai Oseni of lies, blackmail

Bwala Accuses Oseni of Misrepresentation Amid Insecurity Discussion

Presidential spokesperson Daniel Bwala has accused journalist Rufai Oseni of misrepresenting his remarks in a post on social media platform X Tuesday, labeling the claims as “lies and blackmail.”

Bwala’s response came after Oseni addressed his comments from December 2023 during a segment on Arise News’ The Morning Show. In that earlier statement, Bwala, then serving as spokesperson for Atiku Abubakar, remarked that “even if you give APC 30 years, nothing will work,” referring to the All Progressives Congress’s performance in addressing national issues.

During the broadcast, Oseni expressed concern over the escalating insecurity in the country and criticized the APC-led government’s response to the crisis.

In his statement on X, Bwala accused Oseni of deliberately distorting his words and asserted that the journalist lacked impartiality. He characterized Oseni as a promoter of a partisan agenda rather than an objective reporter.

Bwala stated, “This liar and Peter Obi propagandist is here again spewing lies and quoting what I never said to push his fake news agenda of blackmail and hate vitriol.”

He further described Oseni’s claims as lacking credibility, suggesting that the journalist had forfeited his right to speak neutrally, and likened his reporting to a mechanic attempting surgery.

The exchange highlights ongoing tensions between media figures and political spokespersons regarding the portrayal of governmental actions and statements.
