PFIPC: ICPC submits report to Tinubu, recommends Adeyemi’s prosecution

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has submitted an interim report to President Bola Tinubu regarding its investigation into the purported Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC).

ICPC Chairman Musa Aliyu announced the report’s submission on Thursday after a meeting with the president at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. In his recommendations, Aliyu urged the prosecution of Adeniyi Adeyemi, the alleged Director-General of the PFIPC.

This report comes 30 days after President Tinubu instructed the ICPC to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the council. Preliminary findings indicate that Adeyemi was never officially appointed by the Federal Government. The investigation also revealed that documents purportedly used to establish the agency, including an appointment letter and a gazette, were forged.

The inquiry centers on allegations of corruption and forgery linked to the controversial PFIPC.
