Police arrest man over alleged defilement of 15-year-old in Ogun
The Nigeria Police Force has arrested a 22-year-old man, known only as Daniel, in connection with the alleged drugging and sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl in Ogun State.
Force Public Relations Officer Ani Iniedu announced the arrest in a statement released on Sunday. Iniedu stated that the suspect is accused of administering a malt drink laced with an unknown substance to the victim, resulting in her loss of consciousness. Following this, he is alleged to have engaged in sexual intercourse with the girl without her consent.
After the incident, the victim was transported to Olukoye Ransome-Kuti Memorial Hospital in Asero for a medical examination. Meanwhile, authorities took Daniel into custody.
Iniedu emphasized that the investigation is being handled by the State Criminal Investigation Department in Eleweran and assured that the suspect remains in police custody.
