PSC debunks fake police recruitment shortlist, warns applicants against fraudsters

Police Service Commission Rejects Fake Recruitment List

The Police Service Commission has issued a statement dismissing a recruitment list circulating on social media as fraudulent. The commission urged the public to ignore the misinformation.

Torty Njoku Kalu, Head of Protocol and Public Affairs at the Police Service Commission in Abuja, addressed the issue in a statement released on Monday. “The attention of the Police Service Commission has been drawn to a fake list currently circulating on social media, purporting to be a shortlist of candidates scheduled for medical examination,” Kalu noted.

The commission clarified that no such shortlist has been officially released. It emphasized that the evaluation of the written examination is still in the final stages, with notifications for medical examinations expected to be sent to successful applicants shortly.

Communication to candidates will occur through multiple channels, including email, SMS, the recruitment portal (npfapplication.psc.gov.ng), and the commission’s official platforms.

The statement reaffirmed the commission’s dedication to a merit-based recruitment process, highlighting that the quality of personnel is crucial for the efficiency of the police force.

The commission cautioned applicants and the general public to remain vigilant against fraud and misinformation. All legitimate updates regarding the recruitment process will be disseminated exclusively through the commission’s verified communication channels.
