Fire Destroys Millions in Spare Parts at Ibadan Market

A fire outbreak at Araromi Market in Onipasan, Ibadan North-East Local Government Area, resulted in the destruction of spare parts worth millions of naira on Saturday night.

According to reports, several shops primarily dealing in vehicle tires and spare parts were impacted by the blaze. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.

Maroof Akinwande, Chairman of the Oyo State Fire Service, confirmed the incident and detailed that the quick response of firefighters played a crucial role in containing the fire.

“The crew arrived to find disused tires and spare parts engulfed in flames, threatening nearby shops and properties,” Akinwande stated in a report. “Firefighters immediately began operations and requested additional support from the Fire Service Headquarters. As a result, an extra fire truck was dispatched to assist at the scene.”

Thanks to their efforts, firefighters managed to prevent the fire from spreading to other nearby shops, thereby minimizing further damage to property.
