Troops Arrest Suspected Terrorist Informant in Adamawa State
Troops engaged in Operation Hadin Kai apprehended a suspected terrorist informant during an intelligence-led operation in the Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
Security expert Zagazola Makama reported the arrest in a statement on X, identifying the suspect as Alhaji Sule Bako. The apprehension occurred at approximately 11:40 a.m. on August 5 in Dzangola Kilba, based on credible intelligence linking Bako to information-sharing activities with terrorist groups in the region.
The operation was conducted by the 232 Battalion (Tactical) as part of Operation Desert Sanity V, which is a segment of the ongoing counter-insurgency effort in Nigeria’s North-East.
Bako was detained without incident and is currently in military custody, where he is undergoing preliminary interrogation and further investigation to assess his alleged connections to terrorist networks.
According to Makama, this arrest is part of a broader initiative by Operation Hadin Kai, aimed at dismantling the support infrastructure for terrorists, including informants, logistical suppliers, and collaborators across the region.
“The military continues to intensify offensive and intelligence operations to disrupt insurgent activity and deny terrorist groups access to local support systems,” he stated.
