Woman Gives Birth to Twins During Political Fundraiser in Kebbi
BIRNIN KEBBI, Nigeria — A woman unexpectedly delivered twin boys on Sunday at a political fundraising event organized by the state’s First Lady, Zainab Nasir Idris, at Haliru Audu Stadium.
The event aimed to gather support for women’s organizations and was attended by Governor Nasir Idris, his wife, and various party officials. Witnesses reported that the woman came to the gathering seeking assistance when she suddenly went into labor, giving birth to the twins on-site. Following the delivery, the mother and her newborns were transported to a local hospital for medical care.
In response to the incident, Bello Dallatun Ka’oje, the member of the House of Representatives for the Suru/Bagudo Federal Constituency, announced a donation of 5 million Naira from the governor for the mother. The funds are intended to assist with her treatment and support the naming ceremony for the twins.
