Argentina Advances to Round of 16 After Narrow Victory Over Cape Verde
Argentina’s national soccer team secured a place in the Round of 16 of the World Cup with a 3-2 victory over Cape Verde in a closely contested match on Sunday.
Following the match, Argentine head coach Lionel Scaloni acknowledged the performance of the Cape Verdean team, known as the Blue Sharks. “A really tough match; you always have to focus on the positives. This team never gives up,” he said during the post-match interview.
Scaloni emphasized the quality of the opposition: “The truth is, when people say there’s no such thing as an easy opponent, today Cape Verde proved they’re a great team.” He noted that his players contributed significantly to the victory, despite finishing the match exhausted. “Everyone gave it their all,” he added.
Argentina will face Egypt in their next fixture on Tuesday as they continue their quest for the championship.
