DAMATURU — The Yobe State Hisbah Board has disrupted a planned “Color Festival” organized by local youths in the state capital. This intervention took place on Saturday, August 1, 2026, as part of the board’s ongoing efforts to uphold moral standards and protect Islamic values.
A statement from Y.M. Abba, of the Media and Publicity unit of the Hisbah Damaturu Command, outlined the operation. It emphasized the board’s commitment to preventing activities that conflict with the teachings of Islam.
“Our responsibility includes monitoring and implementing measures to ensure peace and moral discipline in society,” the statement read.
The board issued a stern warning to individuals and groups contemplating events that contravene Islamic teachings, urging them to refrain from such activities.
“The Hisbah Board will pursue legal action against anyone found organizing or supporting such events,” the statement concluded.
