Yusuf Buhari declares 2027 House of Representatives bid for Katsina constituency

Yusuf Buhari Announces Candidacy for House of Representatives
Yusuf Buhari, the son of former President Muhammadu Buhari, has declared his intention to run for a seat in the House of Representatives in the 2027 elections. He aims to represent the Daura/Sandamu/Mai’adua Federal Constituency in Katsina State as a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Buhari made his announcement on Thursday during a meeting with party members and supporters in Daura, shortly after seeking the backing of Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda the previous day.
“I am here to seek your support, and I assure you that if elected, I will do my best and will never disappoint you, God willing,” he stated.
During the event, Alhaji Musa Haro, the traditional leader and Dan Madamin Daura, urged attendees to support Buhari’s campaign. “We are here to ask for your support for our brother. We will go to the people in every town and village to seek their support. We will also reach out to other aspirants contesting the same seat to collaborate with them and seek their support,” Haro said.
He acknowledged the contributions of the current lawmaker, Aminu Jamo, noting, “Nobody can do 100 percent in politics.”
Yusuf was joined at the gathering by former lawmaker Fatuhu Muhammad and other family members. The seat is currently held by Aminu Jamo.
