P-Square: ‘I can’t look away from my responsibility’ – Lola Omotayo finally speaks after apology from Nigerians

Lola Omotayo, the wife of singer Peter Okoye, has publicly addressed recent accusations made against her and the apologies that followed from social media users.

For years, Omotayo has faced scrutiny, with many blaming her for the tensions between the P-Square music duo, which consists of her husband, Peter Okoye, and his twin brother, Paul Okoye. Speculation suggested that the brothers’ disagreements began after Peter’s marriage to Lola.

The narrative surrounding Omotayo shifted following a recent outburst by Peter, which was prompted by Paul’s comments regarding Nigerian languages. In a series of videos shared on Instagram, Peter accused Paul and their elder brother, Jude, of creating divisions within the group. He alleged that they conspired to misappropriate P-Square’s royalties, worth millions of dollars, into a company account controlled by Jude and his wife, Ifeoma.

As these revelations emerged, many Nigerians took to social media, expressing regret for wrongly blaming Lola. Supporters tagged her in posts and shared her images to honor her patience throughout the ongoing family disputes.

In her response on Instagram Monday, Lola encouraged women not to let public perception dictate their worth. She expressed gratitude to those who have stood by her and reaffirmed her commitment to her responsibilities.

“Every woman is strong, capable, and worthy of every dream in your heart. You are the complete package. Never allow fear, failure, or the opinions of others to define you,” she wrote. She continued, emphasizing the importance of self-belief and resilience in the face of adversity.

“I can’t look away from my responsibilities. I can’t look away from my strength as a woman,” she added. “I love you all.”
