Uba Sani inaugurates security committee to protect lives, property

Governor Uba Sani Launches Disarmament Committee in Kaduna State

Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has inaugurated the Kaduna State Disarmament, Demobilisation and Reintegration (DDR) Peace and Security Committee. This initiative aims to enhance the protection of lives, property, and critical national assets throughout the state.

In a post on his verified Facebook account, Governor Sani emphasized the administration’s commitment to “safeguarding the lives and livelihoods” of residents. He described the committee’s formation as a crucial step in advancing peace and securing stability in Kaduna State.

The Governor noted that Kaduna has been designated as a pilot state for this initiative, reflecting both national confidence in the proposed security framework and the administration’s strategic efforts to address insecurity.

“Our approach combines kinetic responses with non-kinetic interventions, widely recognized as the Kaduna Peace Model,” he stated. According to Sani, this strategy acknowledges that insecurity often stems from deeper structural issues such as poverty, exclusion, and limited economic opportunities.

The Governor also highlighted the collaborative efforts with various agencies, including the Office of the National Security Adviser and the National Counter Terrorism Centre, noting that these partnerships have yielded measurable progress in enhancing security in the region.
