Kaduna lawmaker dumps PDP for ADC

Senator Ibrahim Khalid Mustapha Leaves PDP for ADC
By Henry Umoru, Abuja
Senator Ibrahim Khalid Mustapha, vice chairman of the Senate committee on ethics, code of conduct and public petitions, has announced his departure from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
In a letter read on the Senate floor on Thursday by Deputy President Senator Jibrin Barau of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mustapha cited ongoing leadership crises within the PDP as his primary reason for the move. He expressed concerns about “persistent leadership crises, internal divisions, and prolonged legal battles” affecting the party.
Following this latest defection, the current composition of the Senate now includes 88 members from the APC, 8 from the ADC, 3 from the PDP, 4 from the New Democratic Congress (NDC), 1 from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), and 1 from Accord, totaling 105 out of 109 seats.
