Nigerian digital creator English Alhaji has raised concerns for his safety after receiving threatening video calls from bandits. The warnings come after he shared advice on social media advocating for violence against criminals.

In a video posted on his Instagram account, Alhaji expressed alarm at the brazen nature of the calls, noting that the bandits were not disguising their identities. “You guys are no longer hiding,” he remarked, highlighting the growing confidence of the criminals who reached out to him via WhatsApp.

Alhaji’s announcement follows his recent comments praising the youth of Achepe community in Nasarawa State for successfully repelling a bandit attack. However, he criticized them for turning captured bandits over to the military, questioning the effectiveness of such actions. “Do you want the army to reintegrate them?” he asked, implying that previous attempts to rehabilitate captured criminals have failed.

In his Instagram video, he stated that during the call, the bandits confronted him about his remarks urging citizens to take lethal action against them if captured. “They said, what if they catch me? They will do that same thing to me,” Alhaji recounted, underscoring the serious nature of the threats he faces.
