Tinubu must account for 2023 promises, Nigerians now adapted to govt failure — Dan Ulasi

PDP Chieftain Urges President Tinubu to Account for Campaign Promises
Dan Ulasi, a prominent figure in the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has called on President Bola Tinubu to publicly address his campaign promises made prior to the 2023 presidential election.
During an appearance on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Wednesday, Ulasi emphasized the importance of transparency, urging the President to provide a detailed account of which commitments have been fulfilled, which are currently in progress, and the reasons for any delays.
“Nigerians deserve clarity on the government’s performance since taking office,” Ulasi stated. He acknowledged that governing may differ from outside perceptions but asserted that citizens have a right to demand explanations regarding unfulfilled promises from their elected leaders.
Ulasi expressed concern over what he characterized as a growing public resignation to subpar governance. He noted that many Nigerians appear to have lowered their expectations of government performance, focusing instead on personal survival outside of state structures.
“If the President is doing well, I want to see him publicly outline his promises from the 2023 campaign, detailing those he has initiated and completed, and if not, why they remain unfulfilled,” Ulasi said.
He added that many citizens have become accustomed to government inaction, often seeking opportunities to generate income independently. “The government fails to produce essential services like water and food, and when it cannot even pay teachers’ salaries, it becomes a significant issue. Our challenges are multifaceted, and we cannot simply leave them to fate,” he remarked.
