NABTEB fixes registration deadlines for 2026 entrance, certificate exams

The National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) has set May 31 and May 24, 2026, as the registration deadlines for the upcoming May/June In-School Certificate Examinations and the National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE).
Dr. Mohammed Aminu Mohammed, the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of NABTEB, announced the deadlines in a statement issued to the media on May 13, 2026. The information was shared by Mr. Uchechukwu Olisah, the Assistant Director of Media and Protocol at the board.
Registration for both examinations is currently underway across Nigeria, with a more streamlined process now available through designated online portals. Dr. Mohammed emphasized that this enhancement aims to provide a smooth and stress-free experience for both candidates and educational institutions.
For the May/June In-School registration, schools must request slots via their State Offices, use the NABTEB Biometric Software to capture candidates, and complete the registration on the official portal at mayjune.nabteb.gov.ng. Schools are also required to obtain login credentials through their State Office, log into the School Portal, process payments, and finalize registration at school.nabteb.gov.ng.
Candidates intending to register for the NCEE should obtain Personal Identification Numbers (PINs) through State Offices. They can complete the registration on the Common Entrance Portal and finalize the process at commonentrance.nabteb.gov.ng. Additionally, candidates have the option to create personal accounts for online registration.
To facilitate bulk registration, schools may also acquire login details from their State Office. Payments and registration must be processed through student.nabteb.gov.ng.
Dr. Mohammed urged schools, parents, guardians, and prospective candidates to utilize this registration period efficiently, ensuring all procedures are completed well before the deadlines to mitigate last-minute issues. He stressed the importance of adhering to registration guidelines and submitting accurate candidate data.
For further clarification and support, the public is encouraged to contact the nearest State Office or visit the Board’s official registration portals. Dr. Mohammed reaffirmed NABTEB’s commitment to using technology to enhance service delivery and examination administration across the country.
