Many injured as vehicle crashes into tricycles in Lagos

Commuters Injured in Lagos Road Accident

LAGOS — Several commuters were injured on Monday morning when a Honda vehicle collided with two commercial tricycles at the Federal Bus Stop on Ipaja Road. The incident occurred around 8:50 a.m. and involved a Honda with the registration number KTU 921 JY.

Witnesses reported that approximately 10 passengers suffered injuries of varying severity from the crash. Initial accounts indicate that the female driver was speeding at the time of the accident, attempting to avoid a street sweeper operated by the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA). Eyewitnesses allege that the driver struck the sweeper before losing control and veering into the opposite lane, where she crashed into the tricycles.

Injuries among the victims ranged from serious to minor. Following the accident, they were first transported to a nearby private medical facility for emergency treatment before some were later transferred to Lagos State University Teaching Hospital for further care.

Authorities from the Nigeria Police Force, alongside personnel from the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) and local security officials, responded to the scene to coordinate rescue operations and manage traffic flow.
