Nigerian goalkeeper Maduka Okoye to undergo surgery

Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye will undergo surgery, according to his Serie A club, Udinese.

The 24-year-old shot-stopper sustained the injury which will keep him out of action for weeks in Udinese’s league clash with Genoa.

Due to the wrist injury, Maduka will undergo surgery in the coming days the club said in a statement on Monday, December 9.

The former Rotterdam goalie is expected to spend a few weeks on the sidelines.

Okoye has already been ruled of tonight’s Serie A clash with Monza.

The goalkeeper established himself as Udinese’s number-one shot-stopper in the second half of last season.

He has made 14 league appearances for Kosta Runjaic’s side this season.
