Governor Adeleke, APC Extend Eid-el-Kabir Greetings to Muslims
Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has extended his best wishes to the Muslim community in the state on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir. In a statement released by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the governor emphasized the importance of sacrifice, moderation, unity, and peaceful coexistence during this significant celebration.
Adeleke described Eid-el-Kabir as a time for reflection on the values of obedience, compassion, and submission to the will of Allah. He noted that the themes of the festival resonate with the vision of his administration, which focuses on service, fairness, and the welfare of residents throughout the state.
The governor called on citizens to evaluate the progress made by his government in various sectors, including infrastructure, health, education, workers’ welfare, and social development. “As you drive through our towns and villages, check through our deliveries and services to our people. We are committed to serving you now and always,” Adeleke stated.
Additionally, he reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to promoting religious harmony, inclusiveness, and equal opportunities for all, regardless of political or religious affiliations. He urged Muslims to continue praying for peace, unity, and progress in both the state and the country.
In a related development, the Osun chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) also congratulated Muslims on the Eid-el-Kabir celebration. State Chairman Tajudeen Lawal called upon the community to remember the less privileged during the festivities.
In a statement, the APC emphasized the importance of extending support to those who may lack the means to celebrate comfortably. The party also encouraged Muslims to pray for the sick and to approach the celebrations with moderation. “We remind our Muslim brothers and sisters of the need to celebrate the Eid-el-Kabir with moderation in order to live to celebrate many more of it in the land of the living,” the statement read.
As political activities ramp up ahead of the governorship election, the APC called upon residents to pray for Osun State and Nigeria. Furthermore, the party urged support for its governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, whom they described as a capable leader able to restore the state’s former glory. They also commended party members and supporters for their peaceful conduct during political engagements.
