Nigerian Army Rescues 360 Kidnapped Victims in Borno State
The Nigerian Army announced Sunday the successful rescue of 360 individuals who had been kidnapped by terrorists in Borno State.
Lt. Col. Haruna Sani, the Acting Media Information Officer for the Joint Task Force (North East) Operation Hadin Kai, confirmed the operation took place in a Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad (JAS) enclave located deep within the Mandara Mountains of the Gwoza Local Government Area.
According to Sani, the rescued captives included men, women, and children, and the operation is considered one of the most significant hostage rescues in the region in recent history.
Gwoza has been frequently targeted by terrorists, who are known for their abduction of civilians, including women and children.
The Army’s continued efforts in the area aim to combat the persistent threat of kidnapping and enhance security for local communities.
