Oyenbanji Wins at Bamidele’s Polling Unit in Ekiti Governorship Election

Governor Biodun Oyebanji of the All Progressives Congress (APC) achieved a substantial victory at the polling unit of Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele during the Ekiti governorship election on Saturday.

Polling Officer Elizabeth Oregbemeh reported that Oyebanji received 164 votes. In contrast, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Dr. Wole Oluyede, garnered 8 votes, while Ayodeji Ojo from the Action Democratic Party (ADP) received just 1 vote.

Bamidele, who cast his ballot earlier in the day, expressed his satisfaction with the election process, highlighting the strong voter turnout throughout the state. He commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for its timely deployment of electoral officials and materials across all 16 local government areas.

INEC statistics indicate that out of 1,059,360 registered voters in Ekiti State, 1,028,929 had collected their Permanent Voter Cards.
