NWFL: Rivers Angels coach, Blankson takes responsibility for poor season

Rivers Angels Head Coach Takes Responsibility for Underwhelming Season
Port Harcourt—Rivers Angels head coach Tosan Blankson has acknowledged his role in the team’s disappointing performance during the 2025-26 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) season. The club concluded the season without securing the league title and also failed to defend their President Federation Cup title after being eliminated by Robo Queens in the quarterfinals.
In a recent media interview, Blankson expressed regret over the outcomes of both competitions. “Unfortunately, I did not end the season well with Rivers Angels,” he said. “I take full responsibility for not achieving the right result.”
Despite the setbacks, Blankson remains optimistic about the upcoming 2026-27 season. He conveyed his commitment to improvement, stating, “A new chapter is loading. Apologies to the fans and people of Rivers State.”
