Celebrating Chief Dan Etete ‘The Ndagbudu Keme Keni of Izon-Ibe’ at 80

Today, the leadership of the Ijaw National Congress, the umbrella Socio cultural organization of over 40 million  Ijaw people worldwide, wish to on behalf of Ijaw Nation, and Niger Delta join the rest of Nigerians in celebrating the remarkable life and impressive legacies of a true elder statesman, Ijaw patriot and philanthropist per-excellence, Chief Dan Etete, on his 80th birthday. 

Our beloved Daddy and foremost icon of the ijaw struggle for self determination ,Chief Dan Etete, your journey has been resilience,  vision, and a steadfast commitment to the development of your people and nation. From your humble beginnings in Ijaw soil, in the Niger Delta to becoming on Nigeria’s most influential and impactful figures in the oil and gas industry,  contributions have left indelible mark.

As a proud son of Ijaw Nation, you have been a voice for your people, advocating for their rightful place in the affairs  of our great nation . Your efforts to empower indigenous businesses in the oil and gas sector laid foundations for economic opportunities within the Niger Delta and beyond. Through  your leadership  you championed initiatives that fostered local content paved the way for offshore exploration, and advocated for the proper utilization of Nigeria’s vast natural resources. 

While your path has been met with challenges, your unwavering  dedication to Nigeria’s economic growth and the uplifting of Ijaw people remains undeniable.  Your story is one of courage, innovation, and the pursuit of progress in the face adversity. 

As you celebrate this milestone, we honour your contributions and legacies. May your 80th year be filled with good health , joy and the fulfilments of witnessing the enduring fruits of your efforts.
