You’ll reap what you sow – Wike warns betrayers

Federal Capital Territory Minister Warns Political Class Against Betrayal
Port Harcourt, Nigeria — Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has issued a stark warning to Nigeria’s political leaders, particularly second-term governors and high-ranking officials, about the consequences of aligning with “betrayers.”
Wike delivered his remarks on Saturday during the inauguration of the Rivers State Renewed Hope Ambassadors’ secretariat. He emphasized that supporting political disloyalty is a perilous choice, suggesting that those who foster betrayal risk becoming its victims.
In the context of his ongoing political disputes with his successor in Rivers State, Wike characterized his statements as a spiritual revelation, indicating that unseen forces are prepared to hold his critics accountable.
“Let me tell you one thing: today is the 7th of February. Whoever is watching—whether you are a senator, a House of Representatives member, a minister, or a governor—if you support betrayers, people will continue to betray you in life,” Wike warned.
He cautioned that the repercussions of betrayal would emotionally and physically undermine its victims, potentially rendering them defenseless when consequences unfold.
“Betrayal is your portion; the day you are betrayed, you will lack the voice to protest, and you will collapse. You will reap the seeds you have sown,” he stated.
Wike reflected on his own political experiences, noting that while his successor took time to turn against him, he predicts others will face faster disloyalty. He asserted that leaders who empower treacherous individuals will encounter rebellion from their chosen successors almost immediately.
“Observe every governor in their second term who aspires to appoint a successor while supporting a betrayer; you will not survive it,” he advised.
Wike underscored that loyalty in politics extends beyond mere strategy, framing it as a moral and spiritual imperative. He cautioned that those who disregard this principle will encounter betrayal across all aspects of their lives.
He concluded by urging political leaders to heed his message, asserting that present circumstances are typically the result of past decisions.
“You will reap it; whatever you sow, you will reap it,” he said.
