EPL: ‘They’re the strongest team’ – Ex-Chelsea star, Leboeuf names club to win title
Frank Leboeuf Names Arsenal as Premier League Favorites for 2026/27 Season
Former Chelsea defender Frank Leboeuf has identified Arsenal as the leading contender for the Premier League title in the upcoming 2026/27 season.
Arsenal recently ended a 22-year title drought, securing their first Premier League championship under manager Mikel Arteta. The team also made a strong showing in the UEFA Champions League but fell short against Paris Saint-Germain in the final.
Leboeuf believes that Arsenal remains the clear favorite to defend their title, regardless of any additional signings this summer. He expressed confidence in the team’s potential, noting their ability to compete effectively even with concerns about player fitness.
In an interview with ESPN, as reported by Metro UK, Leboeuf stated, “Arsenal have some assurances and they know that with the team they have right now they can be better than anybody else.”
He highlighted the strength of the defensive lineup, featuring Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba, asserting, “If I were an Arsenal supporter, I would not be concerned. Can they achieve a consecutive Premier League title? Yes, they are my favorites, but they must prove it.”
In preparation for the new season, Arsenal has bolstered their squad with the acquisition of Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle United for £75 million. The club has also secured Greek winger Christos Tzolis and free-agent goalkeeper Ilian Meslier to enhance their chances of winning back-to-back titles.
