Osun: Adeleke never bought me a car – Ex-Governor, Oyinlola
Former Osun State Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola has refuted claims that current Governor Ademola Adeleke gifted him a car. Oyinlola expressed his denial during an interview on Channels Television’s “Politics Today” on Thursday.
He referenced a law in Osun State that requires the provision of a vehicle to former governors every four years. Oyinlola noted that he has been out of office for 16 years, which necessitates the regular replacement of his official vehicle.
“The law enacted by the State House of Assembly is a factual development, not misinformation,” he stated, emphasizing that the provision of a vehicle is not linked to individual governors. “It is unfortunate that a sitting governor would spread falsehoods.”
Oyinlola clarified, “It was not Adeleke who gave me a car; it is a benefit provided by the Osun State government in accordance with the law.”
