Iran seeks justice over deaths of 168 children in alleged US missile strike
The Iranian Embassy in Nigeria has issued a statement calling for truth, accountability, and justice concerning the reported deaths of 168 children in a missile strike on Shajareh Teybeh School in Minab.
The embassy’s appeal was made public on Friday, marking 168 days since the onset of the conflict. According to the embassy, the children were killed in what it characterized as a U.S. missile strike.
In its statement, the embassy emphasized the need to establish accountability for the attack, noting that the United States has not formally accepted responsibility despite evidence it claims links the incident to U.S. military forces.
“168 days have passed since the beginning of the aggression against Iran,” the statement read. “168 innocent children lost their lives as a result of U.S. missile strikes on Shajareh Teybeh School in Minab.”
Furthermore, the embassy highlighted the importance of recognizing the value of every child’s life, irrespective of nationality. “The life of an Iranian child is no less valuable than the life of an American, European, or any other child in the world,” it stated.
The embassy urged the international community to adhere to international humanitarian law and ensure thorough investigations into attacks on civilians, particularly those involving children and educational institutions.
