Troops foils attack on Plateau community

Troops from Sector 8, part of Operation Enduring Peace, thwarted an attempted attack on the Manja community in the Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State on Saturday.

The intervention followed intelligence reports regarding the movement of armed individuals who were believed to be preparing to assault the community.

A security analyst, Zagazola Makama, shared the details in a post on X on Sunday. The troops’ swift response forced the suspected attackers to retreat into surrounding bushes, leaving behind their cattle.

Later that day, at approximately 4:12 p.m., troops received a second report indicating an attempt to infiltrate Manja village. In response, they initiated a pursuit operation and maintained a strong security presence in the area.

Additionally, security forces conducted offensive patrols and clearance operations to deter further attempts to enter the community. Sources indicate that military operations continue in and around Manja and neighboring areas to apply ongoing pressure on the suspected attackers and ensure the safety of local residents.
