N39bn cocaine seizure: NDLEA ordered to produce KC Luxury in court
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has been ordered to present Afolabi Kazeem Micheal, known as ‘KC Luxury,’ in court following a ruling from a Federal High Court in Lagos on Thursday.
The court mandated the NDLEA to produce KC Luxury after the agency had not formally charged or arraigned him after 14 days in custody. His arrest occurred on August 18, 2026, when the NDLEA announced the seizure of a 184.5-kilogram cocaine shipment valued at approximately 39 billion naira.
KC Luxury was apprehended at the Lagos airport as he was allegedly attempting to leave Nigeria for Paris. This court order resulted from an ex parte application submitted by his attorney, A. Labi-Lawal, SAN, under the Fundamental Rights Enforcement Procedure Rules of 2009.
